Time Warp

Well it’s about time I updated this Blog! I can’t believe it’s been a month already since I Returned from the Philippines. Time there was too short!

Not a lot has happened sine I have been back and it’s strange as I really haven’t settled in back at work. I know nothing has changed there but I think I am the one who has done all the changing inside. It’s nothing bad though but I just cant put my finger on it as yet, something is different and yet to discover what it all means. Just a little more time and all will be clear.

Renovations on the house have come a long way. The backyard patio is almost complete, just needs the tiles to be laid over the cement now but it is fully functional with the chairs and the table in is prime centered position along side the new BBQ grill. Really I think we have been spending crazy amounts of money on the house just to get it up to date.

Freya is due for her 6 monthly haircut as she is looking more like a feral beast rather than a pampered pooch, and a smelly one at that. Thankfully this will happen on Tuesday and not a day too soon.

This Last week was the first time I have seen rain since leaving Manila Airport. It was long over due and the garden is starting to spruce up again. almost a whole week of rain and hardly any fell near the dam catchment areas which feeds Brisbane’s water supplies. They keep saying we are in a drought but as Darren always says, this is the greenest drought he has ever seen. We are not in a drought, just suffering foolish politicians that have not managed Brisbane’s water supplies correctly. Well we will vote these fools in every time!

I have been reading some of my old lyrics lately and remembering the emotional states I was in at the time of writing them and my god, some of them I think I must have been either pissed or stoned on whatever to have written them at all. Some I deleted from my HD as there would be no way I could even revisit those states of mind to even consider publishing them (very bitter and twisted), but they were almost 13 years old and I have come a long way since those days. One day they will find a voice to give them any sort of credit but today is not that day! :)
Finally got my new iMac and still in the process of transferring data onto it. I find it amazing how much computers have weaved themselves into the very fabric of our lives. There isn’t a day that goes by that I find myself staring into the void of cyber space searching for a life! Any sign of life!! We are becoming more and more shadows of our cyber selves - an analog reflection of a digital being. People meet and date on line, they communicate either through SMS of instant messengers, shopping and banking is all just a download away and we are now called the human interface of technology. I always though it was the Mouse and the Keyboard that were the human elements but no, it is us with touch screens becoming more popular. It isn’t stopping with the humble PC’s, now tennis racquets and snow ski’s have microprocessors in them to tell them when to flex and when to retain tension for speed and strength. I tell you it wont be long before the next vibrator you purchase will come with full motor sensory and attitude …. “Hi, I’m Denis you new dildo and I must say you have given a new definition to spelunking, so roomy and spacious, ever thought of upgrading to a baseball bat?”

Well it’s almost midnight and time to stop rambling - till next time.

Dan.
